drawn walkcycles

my current progress with the drawn walkcycles is going ok, i think.
i've been using the muybridge images as reference.
my first attempt was done using twinkle, a character i've come up with to torment the hamster of doom.
As she has no feet i was asked to attempt a walkcycle using a character with feet rather than stumps, so i tried using a character i designed to be the owner of the hamster of doom. the plan was to get him to walk across the screen, but so far he just walks on the spot. *bloke*
i've still yet to do a drawn walkcycle in perspective, but marisse (animation tutor) wants us to concentrate on getting our public information film storyboards ready for when our visitor from cosgrove hall comes to see them in november.
also, we're still working on our maya briefs.
very busy, but having fun.

Walk Cycles

this week we've been doing drawn and cgi walk cycles.
for the drawn walk cycles i have been making progress with the character twinkle. (i will put the quick time files on deviant when i have finished them.) the cgi walk cycles are done using maya. there aren't enough machines for us all, so as yet i've been watching a fellow classmate animate the figure we've been given to play with. the brief wants us to produce a cgi walk cycle each, so i mentioned the lack of machines problems to the tutors. i was told that not all the machines will run maya, looks like i may have to spend dinner times attempting my walk cycles(if there are any free machines).

good news though, i recently bought the animators survival kit, muybridge's animals in motion and the human figure in motion, and no logo. yay for books ^U^

today we had a talk on toon boom. if i can get a new laptop i'll get a student toon boom licence.

An on-line pdp?

we had a lecture this morning on how we should tackle this little demon that is known as the pdp. one suggestion was that perhaps a digital version might be an easy accessible option, then another tutor asked if any of us had blogs, since that could be another way. so, here we have the pdp the hamster ate, where i'm supposed to put my thoughts and feelings about my latest briefs and research.

this is just because they didn't like my A5 notebook version. it wasn't user friendly enough. this means that for year 2 you all get to suffer the blog version >:D mwahaha!

hmmm, well. we shall see.
